Renown concert pianist Dr. Samuel Pérez, has performed as soloist with symphony orchestras, in piano recitals and in chamber music, in concert stages in Europe, the United States, México, the Caribbean and in Puerto Rico, to great success with audiences and critics.
In Puerto Rico he studied with professors Marilú Rappaport, Alicia Villar, Rosita Casanova and Jesús María Sanromá. Pérez received a Bachelors in Arts degree, Magna Cum Laude, from the University of Puerto Rico, along with a Diploma in Piano from the Puerto Rico Conservatory of Music. He continued his studies in the University of Michigan with Dr. Charles Fisher and the Hungarian pianist György Sándor. At the University of Michigan Pérez obtained the Masters of Music and Doctorate in Musical Arts degrees.

Pérez has been included in publications such as “Dictionary of Biography”, “Men of Achievement” (England), “Who’s Who in Hispanic America” and “Who’s is Who in American Education” (United States).
For the Puerto Rico Institute of Culture, P»rez has made recordings of music for the piano of Puertorrican composer José Ignacio Quintón, to conmemorate the composer’s Centennial. He has also recorded for the Bella Musica (Germany) and Harmonia Classica (Austria) labels.
Samuel Pérez was chosen to perform the world premmiere of Carlos Alberto Vázquez’s Concerto for Piano and Orchestra, as soloist with the Puerto Rico Symphony Orchestra.
He was Chancellor of the Puerto Rico Conservatory of Music for three years. He is currently on the faculty of the University of Puerto Rico, San Juan Campus, where he is a full professor in the Music Department.
